- Founded in 1918, opened officially in 1925.
- According to the Academic Ranking of World Universities, the Hebrew University is the top university in Israel, overall the 59th-best university in the world, 16th in mathematics, 27th in computer science and 44th in business/economics.
- Four of Israel's prime ministers are alumni of the Hebrew University. In the last decade, seven researchers and alumni of the University received the Nobel Prize and one was awarded the Fields Medal.
Courses Taught in English
- Master courses taught in English: (One-year): MBA in entrepreneurship and innovation; M.A. in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies; L.L.M. in International Business Law and Intellectual Property; L.L.M. in Human Rights and International Law.
- Undergraduate course: BA English Literature
- Visiting student (one-year): There is a flexible framework to register as a visiting student for up to one year, taking one to two courses only. Meant for students considering graduate studies or already in graduate studies.

- Being in Jerusalem: Hebrew University is a place to meet many seekers of the Christian faith wo come to Jerusalem to study the Bible, Hebrew, and Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies. (The Hebrew University has three campuses in Jerusalem and one in Rehovot, near Tel Aviv.)
- Language: Classes in most undergraduate programs require knowledge of Hebrew. Selected classes taught in English at graduate level.
