We need saints who can be in Israel to prepare for His coming.
One day in August 2013, I went to the office as usual. My supervisor came over and said that there was an opportunity to go to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem for a year. At that moment, I realized that I was going to have an opportunity to witness the Lord’s move on this earth.
I am a PhD student in Atmospheric Sciences in the University of Maryland. I was saved and believed into the Lord in February 2013. In October the same year I went to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Israel for exchange for ten months.
I have experienced a lot during these ten months. I would like to share two aspects with you.
First of all, I have visited many historic sites in Israel as recorded in the Bible. As a young believer in the Lord for only half a year, many stories in the Bible were rather blurred As I visited these Bilblical sites, the content of the Bible became more real to me. Whenever I read the relevant Bible verses again, these places would come up in my mind. It really helps me to appreciate the life emerging from the word of God.
Secondly, I remember vividly the brotherly love among the saints in Jerusalem. When I first arrived and did not know the place well, the saints helped me adapt to the living there, giving me a lot of help in my daily livng and spiritual pursuit. Many young saints came to Jerusalem out of a burden for this place, and gave up their original stable living. They came from all over the world, with different backgrounds. Whenever I met with them, I could experience the oneness in the Body of Christ. They practised the brotherly love, supplying one another with the truth and life, just as Galatians 3:28 says, “There cannot be Jew nor Greek, there cannot be slave nor free man, there cannot be male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Although the numbers were few, but in every meeting the spirit was high. As a young believer in the Lord for just half a year, I was richly supplied by the Body of Christ, and I have grown quite a bit in my spiritual life.
It was a pity that I was so young in the Lord then and what I could supply was really limited. I await the day when I am more mature in the Lord, and I can return to Jerusalem for blending, and to supply life.
Lastly, I really hope that saints can seize the opportunity and go to Israel for blending. At least we can pray for the saints there. We need saints who can be in Israel to prepare for His coming.
